The first architectual project of the Humanitarian Fund of the parish of Preljina refers to the paving with asphalt 2,5 km of the road to the nearby monastery "Vujan".

According to tradition, this monastic dwelling place was chosen by the monks from the monasteries in Ovcar-Kablar gorge, called "Serbian Holy Mountain", to be the land that will belong to their church .

A wooden cross, made by the hand of Patriarch Pavle in 1946 while he was the novice in the monastery, has been saved as an outstanding and extraordinary value in the monastery.

 

The monastery "Vujan" has been well known as a center for teaching young people when there was no school.

In the first half of 19th century this monastery has been the source of church literacy and the place where the necessary spiritual youth was prepared.

Nowadays, the monastery "Vujan" is a spiritual source where many people, desirous of prayer and monastic peace and tranquility are running up to.

The monastery is celebrating Archangel Gavrilo for its patron saint (on July 26th).
